Contest Information

Contest will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012.

There were about 90 entries in last year's contest.  Other than the judges and contest workers, anyone can enter.  We do ask that only non professionals enter.  But other than that, everybody can enter!!

Categories:

        Fretwork, Intarsia, Open

            (Open will include segmentation, non-pierced work, marquetry done with a scroll saw and inlay done with a scroll saw.  This category includes all projects which cannot be classified as either fretwork or intarsia.  A least a major portion of the project shall show evidence of being done with a scroll saw.  A part may be built using other tools.)

Classes:

    Basic, Intermediate, Complex

    The class your item is entered will be determined by the staff after all entries are received.  The division of the category into classes will be determined first by the complexity of the design of the entry and secondly by the total number of entries in the category.  This procedure will give a simple, but elegant Christmas ornament the same chance of winning as a Dome Clock.

Prizes:

    Class Winners: First, Second, Third & Fourth will receive ribbons

    Best in Class Winner: a red rosette Ribbon, and many other valuable prizes

    Best in Show Winner: a Blue Rosette Ribbon and many other valuable prizes

    Scrollers Choice winner: A Gold Rosette Ribbon and many valuable prizes

    Junior Scroller winner: a Rosette ribbon and many valuable prizes.

Entry Fees:

    Age 18 and under may enter as many items as they want FREE!

    Pre-registration received before July 30, 2012 - $4.00

     August 3 & 4 at the door fee will be $5.00

General Rules:

    Fees must accompany your entry form.  Items will be taken from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3 and from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4.
